Ground floor, which here means you step straight out. The terrace holds two chairs and a low table, and it faces east, so it takes the morning sun and loses it by eleven — which is exactly when you want the shade.
Inside it is cool stone and dark olive timber, a king bed that can be split to twins, and shutters rather than curtains. The bathroom is walk-in, with a rain shower and Kenyan botanical soaps made up in Nairobi.
These are the rooms we give to guests staying a week, and to anyone who has just come off the Nairobi road.
